Coverage is personal and service-specific.
It is understandable to want a quick yes-or-no answer about coverage. In practice, the answer can depend on the person’s plan, the type of service, clinical or program requirements, authorization, provider participation, and current eligibility. A careful check before care begins is the best way to avoid surprises.
Questions to bring to the conversation
- Is the service I am exploring covered by this plan or program?
- Does the plan require a referral, order, assessment, prior authorization, or chosen provider?
- Is A&A currently a participating provider for this specific service and plan?
- What cost-sharing, limits, or documentation requirements may apply?
- Who can give the final current answer in writing if needed?
Use the right source for the decision
A&A can explain the information it needs to explore service fit. The insurer, Medicaid managed-care plan, Medicare, county board, or waiver program controls its own current rules. The A&A website does not promise coverage, participation, authorization, or eligibility.
Document the next step
After a call, write down the name of the organization, the date, the representative if available, and any reference number or required follow-up. This makes it easier to keep the care conversation moving.
Need to talk through your situation?
A&A can discuss the type of support you are exploring and explain the next practical question. Please do not send private health information through the public website form.
